We are very excited to be in the beginning of the African Dance unit that Mrs. Forrest won through a grant again this year! (Last year it was such a success!) The students (6th and 7th graders) are having 2 hours of dance instruction each week, with a focus on Maya Angelou's work. Thus, in writing class, we are doing a unit on her work as well! We are reading her poetry, studying her life, and writing like she wrote. It's all very fun and I think the students are really enjoying themselves! This will go on until we have to take a break for our previously scheduled Shakespeare unit and then we will come back a little bit to give honor to Maya Angelou for the final dance performances and writing projects!
**Attention, all 6-7-8 students and parents!**
